Plugins. How?

Hello,
I am going to write ZX Spectrum emulator for Linux this year.
Standalone versions for X and svgalib and as plugin for Netscape.
I wanna do the same for Arachne (at least Linux version).

Is there any API to display animations, draw to screen with Arachne?
