             The GDFN(greater detroit freenet) disconnects
after an hour on line and I had to send my e-mail or loose
it and start all over. Anyway, AIWS, I tried to use Windoze/
IE to signup on Freewwweb but because of its' blind bloated
excessive rampant redundant confusing irritating bombastic
corrosive errosion of disk space and memory the attempts
were futile.

Is GFDN like a BBS? Do you get shell account or graphic account? Do you
compose e-mail online or offline? What kind of server is detroit.freenet.org
on? Is it a BBS, HTTP or FTP domain? I don't think Zmodem is used on the
Internet; HTTP or FTP is used instead. When you telnet from Arachne, is it like
a BBS interface? I installed but never used Arachne TELNET.APM; only telnet I
ever did was with Hyperaccess for OS/2, full retail version, and you can't use
that in DOS. I am told that with TCPPORT, you can use any DOS-based BBS-access
program via telnet, and you have Zmodem and whatever other file-transfer
protocols are in the BBS-access program. But with the growth of the Internet,
those DOS BBS-access programs are sitting idle on my computer.
