Hi All! Well, I have a couple of ideas on free Web-based email services. The one I 'm using now, www.email.com, which is powered by www.mail.com, is accessible on my 486DX4, using a 33.6 kbps modem...no problems at all. However, if I try to login to email.com from the PC I use at work, I can't manage to get in...Arachne just reloads the sign in page. Possibly something to do with amount of RAM available (24 meg on my 486, compared to 8 meg on P75 at work) or modem speed (my 33.6 compared to 19.2 at work, usually connects at 14.4). The other partially usable web-based email in Arachne, that I use anyhow, is www.inbox.excite.com. Note---to use all the "features" of Excite's mail, you need JavaScript...but, in Arachne I can read and delete any email, I just can't post, reply or empty the trash, hehehe! Some users have had luck with www.mail.yahoo.com in Arachne, but I have never been able to manage a succesful login, on either machine...I can with Lynx 386 DOS version 2.8.X however. Probably something idiotic that I'm doing! Anyhow, there's my experience with web-based email using Arachne, from versions 1.48 through 1.66...hehe! C U L8R!
