Ahem, only if you clear that directory. A good program either names the
file *.tmp ~*.* and only deletes these or remove the files afterwards (not
using *.* but file1 file2 file3 etc.)

That's why it (Linux) is so illogical IMHO.
BTW: Does anyone here use Mandrake 7.0 ? Apparently they changed in school
(from Red Hat) and I can't understand how the ssh client they have is
supposed to be used :(
On the other hand one can boot from floppy now so I can use Arachne from
almost any computer ;-)

Well, if the branch is c:\directory and you are in c:\directory you can't
"cut the branch" ;-)

I still don't see the point in doing like this - it's only needed if you
use a networked drive as TEMP directory... Otherwise "if exist
c:\directory\nul" will work - it should be doable to test for a nul file in
C as well.

I don't agree.

The default setting.

Yes, I think I've told you this earlier. If you remember I used C:\DOS a
long time, and I would have gotten into serious problems if Arachne had
removed everything in there as well - I have of course all the programs
that came with DOS on backups - but almost all utils that I've installed
and might not know where I got from are also located there.

I agree with the original poster - Arachne should only remove files it has
created.

Hmm... I don't have time, so I'll settle with complaining ;-)
