So this could be the problem that prevents the existence of an
advanced protected mode DOS: The fact that since "DOS" in general
is concidered old, there will not be alot of programmers that will
bother to make programs for it. Therefor, without apps, the new
DOS wouldnt live. And because it wouldnt be compatible with the
"real mode" DOS without an emulator, it wouldnt seem very smart
to install a whole protected mode OS just to run the real mode
software via an emulator later.
Ugh. This sucks. :)
For that we can say this: The progress of DOS's full development
was stopped not because of its "incapabilities", but due to market
forces. Ah well. Se la vi.
