There are a few things that can be done here, one is to move djpeg inside
Arachne of course (either convert them internally or use JPEGs directly). But
then you have the problem that the 32-bit version is much faster than the
16-bit version and Arachne is still 16-bit.
Something that I think would make it slightly faster would be to only load
cwsdpmi *once* (ie. as a TSR) and then unload it after decompressing all the
images.
BTW: There's a release 5 of CWSDPMI out now, so Arachne is two versions
behind ;-)
