On the problem of not getting all of the images.
I have found that Arachne is too fast now. ;-)
With Multitasking Yes and Keepalive Yes she "misses" some images at
some sites at some times. It seems to depend upon "net lag" at the time
the images are being requested. If it's a site with very little traffic
at this particular time.... all goes well and all images are D/Led.
If that site is very busy, then some of the images are requested, a few
bytes D/Led but then the server terminates the D/L
So if I miss some images, I try turning-off Keepalive.
This usually fixes it.
Try http://www.metacrawler.com/ with these settings:
LoadImages No
Multitasking Yes
HTTPKeepAlive Yes
After the html has D/L and rendered, press "Insert" or click "load images"
If your experience is the same as mine, 2 or 3 images won't load.
Clear the cache and try again.
A different set of 2 or 3 images won't load.
Here's my cache dir after missing 3 images:
Listing directory: L:\ARACHNE\CACHE\
Name mask: *.*

Here are the .HTT files for those 3 "zero byte" files

Now try it with these settings:
LoadImages No
Multitasking Yes
HTTPKeepAlive No
Again, if your experience is like mine..... all images will load every
time you try.
