IE has good points, but some really strong bad ones:
1)I cant stand the user interface. Its going against the user.
Netscape 3 and 4 got a UI that simply beat IE to the dust.
For me, the UI is more important then the capabilities of the
program - simply because i'd rather use several "limited" tools
that can be ran with comfort and speed over one multi capable
program that I feel "limited" with, and that slow me down.
2)Its big. Its loading slowly. (Netscape 6 is just as bad, btw.)
It takes LOTS of resources that it shouldnt need in the first place.
3)The thing crashed on me more then Netscape 3/4. Its unstable.
4)No matter how hard I try, it still "fuse" with Windows, even in
a limited way. I cant stand a program that I cant just remove and
kill. A program that doesnt obey what I tell it to do is not a
program - its a virus, as far as I concern...
5)Security holes. Repeat these 2 words and add 2 cups of water.
The combination of Netscape 3, 4 - when I need it, and Arachne solve
just about most of my internet browsing needs. I dont really need IE.
The only problem is, that I am not a common user. And the common user
want IE. So we're stuck. All hail the mainstream.
