If I remember, cq means: Is anybody on > the air who can here me? That is what it means. "cq" is an abbreviation. Literally it means "seek you", or "I am seeking you, whoever you are, who might be out there listening." BTW, the popular IRC chat application known as "ICQ" derives its name from amatuer radio. "I" is the nominative first person pronoun. "cq" = "seek you". Translation: "I seek you". All the best, Sam Heywood -- This mail was written by user of The Arachne Browser - http://arachne.cz/
