I downloaded the latest version; just weeks old. If you plan on installing it, don't believe the instructions on the web page, but rather read the README.TXT and similar within the package. The current instructions on the download page are useless. http://www.abisource.com/
I couldn't install the *.rpm because of missing dependencies, so I got the source and compiled it. For this package, that means these commands: ./autogen.sh ./configure make make install It's come a long way since I last played with it, and it loads in less than 5 seconds on my machine (less than 1 sec if it's still cached) as opposed to more than 45 seconds for Star Office (which is too large to be cached in my 64MB). Anyway, here's a screenshot of the latest version, 0.9.4.1: http://wizard.dyndns.org/abiword.png and a shot of the drop-down for the "save-as" options: http://wizard.dyndns.org/abi_type.png (note: LaTeX files are easily converted to .pdf for those who wish to go that route ;-) The font rendering still leaves a bit to be desired, but it prints out on the printer a whole lot better than the onscreen font quality. - Steve
