Gregy & all other helpful peepuls ...

Went back to Google Advanced Search page today for first time since I
wrote ... and it's working fine -- with the exception of that "type of
page" crap on the end which is easily edited out on the URL line.

Guess it was a short-period brain fart on the part of their servers or
??

Why so long for me to recheck Google? I've been busy with my newest
electronic toy, and making a place for it to fit in this already too
crowded apartment. <G>

New toy is Yamaha YPP-200 "light" piano ... and it led to me once again
being shocked at how technology has changed our world more rapidly than
is believable. When I was in college, living in a 13' trailer with 4th
grade kid & 2 cats, plus computer, I didn't have room for my upright
grand piano (which has since found a new home with a good friend in
Texas). So I'd bought a Casio synth with 66 keys -- killing my student
budget at over $600, plus buying the Gorilla amp, plus buying the stand
for it. Six years ago it was stolen, and I simply lacked anything near
the money I'd need to buy a new semi-decent musical keyboard of any
sort. But I hit the wall the other day; I'd been without being able to
play music for tooooooo long, but a search of eBay showed primarily crap
at horrendous prices. But it did get me onto Google, and then to the
Yamaha site, and then to making phone calls to dealers, and then to a
"We're having a sale right now, and we have full 88-key, speakers/amp
built in, and I think it has ports for pedals" for $399.99. When I got
there I discovered it even came with its own stand, and it wasn't just a
"piano" it was 2 pianos, electric piano, vibraphone, harpsicord, church
organ, string, an choir! (I think I remembered all of them) The keys
give "feedback" and act just like real piano keys, only touch is a
heckuva lot easier to set from soft to medium to hard with just the
touch of a button, and you have have two 'voices' at once, like grand
piano and strings, and ....

I was overwhelmed and whipped the plastic out so fast I'm surprised the
data strip on the back wasn't wiped clear. <G> You probably would have
gotten a kick of seeing how I managed to slide that BIG box [supposedly
only 64 pounds] from the tail gate of the pickup to the seat of my
electric scooter, and then from there onto the porch ... but I got it in
safely, found a place to put it once all the cleaning and moving and
rearranging of the rest of the house was done, and played piano for the
first time in six years two nights ago. If you see typos, it's cuz my
hands are a bit stiff, sore, swollen, etc etc & soforth. <G>

0000 0000 We now return to our regularly scheduled program
