  Stands for "Blind Carbon Copy."

If you send e-mail 

To: your boss
CC: your co-worker
BCC: a government agency

  Then all e-mails will only show the To: and CC: 
addresses.  
  Your boss will see that you CC'd your co-worker
and vice versa, but neither will see you sent to 
the gov't agency. 
  The gov't agency will also see only To: your boss 
and CC: your co-worker.
