Bastiaan,

I don't think there is.  When we think about this, we need to 
remember that we are (theoretically) speaking only about Arachne
talking to DOS and DOS trying to do something, then talking back
to Arachne.

DOS normally has NO functions to keep logfiles, etc.  And, if we
want such a thing, we load some TSR (such as PRN2FILE) and make
provisions for our own "logfile".....

This should mean that Arachne would encounter NO problems on
DOS...but...if what I suspect may be true....then W9x is writing
erroneous information to one of the interior "tables of tables"
structure that misleads DOS into telling Arachne a device is 
there, which Arachne then tells DOS to go find.....which breaks
down, here, because DOS can now not find what it originally told
Arahne was there......hmmmmm....well..hope I have thoroughly
confused you.....<g g g g g>
