Do you have the ESC key setup to 'go back' ?

Did that page 'pop up' instantly ?

Or did it get 're-downloaded' from the web ?

Where is your history file stored ?

Please forward to us... these lines from your arachne.cfg

[system]
Hotlist .\hotlist.htm
History .\history.lst
CookieFile .\cookies.txt
CacheIndex .\cache.idx
CachePath .\cache\
Cache2TEMP No
MailPath .\mail\
DownloadPath c:\1recv\

Check to be sure that none of these lines also exist further up.

The first line encountered for each variable is the one that will be used.
(all further lines for the same variable will be disregarded)

MailPath .\mail\
MailPath c:\arachne\mail\

current_drive:\arachne_main_dir\mail\
Will be used.

c:\arachne\mail\
Will be disregarded.

This same 'rule' is followed in mime.cfg

text/plain txt ;used
text/plain htm ;desregarded
