Hello again,

since 10 days it works well. The system swaps but the query returns results 
in 3.2 seconds. All I have changed (besides the continous logging whether 
the machine starts swapping) was to assign 4 CPU-cores (instead of 1) to 
the machine.
I will continue to observe the behaviour of the database, but untill now it 
seems to me that the problem is solved.
