In January, when Peter N suggested a release I suggested a few things that I (personally, before I get an rjeking) would like to see done before release. Here's an update on how they're going.
1) Redo the website. I mocked up a plan of a 4 page website, user page, developer page, screenshots and manual. http://www.spod.org/~peter/pages.txt So far I'm about 50% done implimenting that, I've done the user page and developer page, I'll try and work on the others tonight. You can see my work in progress here. http://www.home.marutan.net/arcempage/index.html http://www.home.marutan.net/arcempage/developer.html 2) A hard drive image, I've got a reasonably complete !Boot setup (universal boot + extra networking + New toolbox) + lots of visual frippery to make it looks like a vaguely modern RiscPC. There may be some (c) issues as it uses the risc os 3.8 sprites and bubblehelp app. I've got it for download if you want to try it out. http://www.home.marutan.net/HardImage1.v001.gz There's a screenshot of it here http://www.home.marutan.net/arcempage/arcemsshot.png (the hostfsfiler bug has already been fixed) Does anyone have any ideas as to what apps they'd like bundled on the HD image? I suspect there's still a lot of bug fixing that ought to be done for a release, but these couple of things are to update the public image of the project and to try and make it less of a geek toy and more something you can use.
