I am using the kernel compiled with the old toolchain and compat-wireless compiled with the new toolchain, no troubles.
If this really is the case, we should rebuild the kernel and all modules with the new GCC and while we're at it, close some bugreports that require a rebuild of the kernel and all modules also.
I would, but I don't really have the time. I'll see when I can get to it.
