Hey, I am sorry about the silence but it seems I am out of luck health-wise lately (nothing too serious though).
I hope I will be able to put in the bootstrapped openssl 4 package into the staging repo next week and create the todo list. From there on any helping hands is very appreciated. If that conflicts with anything going on or planned, please let me know. As far as I can see, the upcoming minor release OpenSSL 4.1 should be compatible and wont require any rebuilds.
