I've known about this issue, but worked around it by not loading i915 before the resume from hibernate occurs - this is done by not including i915.ko in the initrd and not building i915 into the kernel.
Additionally, I have highmem off (netbook with 1GB memory), but I don't know if that affects anything. I strongly advise you to fsck your disks now because the memory corruption might have screwed them up.
