FWIW currently I'm a little bit lazy and instead of recovering lost data or to solve my Internet issue for Arch, I'm running a Parted Magic Live CD just to have some fun. It ships with LXDE, IMO another good replacement for GNOME. Enlightenment IMO is garbage, but perhaps Fluxbox is enhanced, didn't tested it for a long time.
