So we find ourselves in a dilemma, and we could start a discussion about something that won’t resolve the dilemma. Okay, so if users build packages with an AUR helper and then don’t install them, you have a point. Why should an AUR helper be in the official repos if it’s used to build packages that aren’t subsequently installed as root? It goes without saying that you shouldn’t download, unpack, or build anything with root privileges.
