  The vim devs (@susematz) has published a patch that resolves this 
issue for my terminal (and I suspect your qterminal as well).

There is another issue opened by the devs to look at this combining this 
bug and "Strange characters in SecureCRT" #20156 where it looks like 
this will be handled upstream making the DECRQM request more strict.
