Arch devs (forum down per-antiz)

  After update this morning, pacman reports:

(12/15) Checking for old perl modules...
WARNING: '/usr/lib/perl5/5.42' contains data from at least 1 packages which will NOT be used by the installed perl interpreter. -> Run the following command to get a list of affected packages: pacman -Qqo '/usr/lib/perl5/5.42'

Okay, not unusual, just need to uninstall and old package that is hanging around:

$ pacman -Qqo '/usr/lib/perl5/5.42'
perl-crypt-ssleay

  Okay

# pacman -R perl-crypt-ssleay
checking dependencies...
:: perl-libwww optionally requires perl-lwp-protocol-https: for https:// url schemes :: xscreensaver optionally requires perl-lwp-protocol-https: for https support on networked demos

Packages (6) perl-bytes-random-secure-0.29-15 perl-crypt-random-seed-0.03-13 perl-lwp-protocol-https-6.17-1 perl-math-random-isaac-1.004-14 perl-path-class-0.37-13 perl-crypt-ssleay-0.73_06-7

Total Removed Size:  0.37 MiB

Hmm, not normal anymore, removing the packages will remove (optional) dependencies for perl-libwww and xscreensaver. I don't need them, so I'll go ahead a remove them -- but I was surprised that it would removed optional dependencies from a currently installed package.

Is this still normal or is perl-crypt-ssleay a special old case that needs to be removed?
