Hi,
here's some info about an issue I just encountered which I seem to have
fixed. Perhaps this is something that should be brought up with
GDM/Gnome or perhaps it's just a conflicting combination of packages.
Since my update of gnome-shell (51.0 -> 51.1) and gdm/libgdm (51.0 ->
51.1.1) yesterday I encountered an issue where GDM would automatically
spam fail login attempts after resume from suspend.
The symptoms were password input field not showing and "Authentication
failed" message flickering. Restarting GDM solved the issue but logging
in also required resetting the faillock (faillock --user <usr> --reset).
Uninstalling fprintd which I had installed but never got working
properly seems to have solved the issue.

Same deal here that the last lines just spam. I'm guessing an equal
number of times to `ulimit -Sn`.
Since I seem to have solved the issue I guess this is mostly
informational at this point. Just thought someone might benefit from the
info. Not sure if I should try and report this to either fprintd whoever
maintains that or the gnome/GDM team. Although I'm thinking fprintd
might be the root cause here. I understand there is some new behavior
regarding login recently introduced in GDM.
