This is not so easy - too many people assume that the license issue is as
simple as GPL, LGPL, BSD but it's not - some applications have their very
own license and I don't see how we can account for all eventualities with
what you have suggested - the only effective usage of license I can
currently see is to use the url of the license information in the field - of
course this could be linked against a dbase of well known licenses for some
purposes but I don't think a catch all solution is possible.  A URL link
also has real value!
