Sorry, for the delay I was busy these days.

It think a move or current content in a cms would be a better solution too. I'm currently testing Joomla (fork of mambo), drupal and Xaraya to compare their features and see how how we could move content of the website in and manage a multilingual website. If you know better solution don't hesitate to contact me. There is also the possibility to build a custom solution, but ... I would give results to the mailing list . I'm ready to help to setup the CMS and move the content to it.

About wiki, maybe we can begin the move of french wiki to the official wiki. Is there a way to add languages on the left and build a better access to languages sections. I mean the top menu is very small, and links to translated pages not very easy, maybe we could setup links like wiki.archlinux.org/{$lang} ? Dunno.

About forums. I think i it would be better to have a forum, a language. Having only one forum for a language isn't very usefull for users. Better would be to have each forum and category exists in a language and a a search engine that search in all thread ? So we could setup something like bbs.archlinux.org/${lang} to access to the forum in one language or better ? If it exist a multinlingual system for forum it would be better...

I'm ready to help to setup this multinlingual website and move current content to this solution. Maybe we could open open a thread on the forum to gather efforts ? If anyone is interrested don't hesitate to contact me on jabber [EMAIL PROTECTED] or irc (benoitc).

This website is currently distinct from archlinux.org in design, and

I'm thinking know on integrate this website in current
archlinux.org ? Why not open a fr.archlinux.org with same design and
informations of english website but translated in french ? And do the
the same with others languages. It would be more easy for
international users to find and share informations if we have one
website, wiki and forum with just interface and data in their language.

Agreed. I suppose the biggest hurdle is getting internationalization
working on all our various web services. The wiki already has some
different language options in it, which is great to see. I'm not sure
about the forum, however. Most posts will be in English, and unless
phpBB has some magic translation magic going on, there's not much to be done if the poor forum reader doesn't understand English. We do have an
Other Languages forum already.

To properly internationalize the main website, it might be a good idea
to move to a CMS of some sort. My experience here is limited, however
(as is my time).
