in /etc/rc.local, I have echo 15 >
/proc/sys/vm/swappiness I am on vanilla Arch 2.6.15, I
did notice that swappiness was gone some time back,
about 2.6.10 & it might have been on a kernel I built.
The alternative is to disable swap entirely. It sounds
as though you have enough ram, so why not remove it
from /etc/fstab, or swapoff -a and see what happens. I
run with swap disabled as a matter of course, and use
that swappiness as a failover kind of thing if I
forget to turn it off.
