It doesn't work very well with ati and fglrx drivers, but I can't say the same thing for radeon, and I'm talking about the 92x0 chipset, which I have too. This is because EXA's main developer owns a 9200, so it's the best tested chipset. I didn't have any performance issues, and glxgears is stable around 750 fps...
