OpenOffice has the same problem, where it was patched before to work
good with fontconfig 2.4.1 and Freetype 2.2.1, it looks like garbage
with fontconfig 2.4.2 and dejavu fonts.

I looked through gitweb for possible changes, but can't really find
anything that changed in fontconfig that should change things in
fontrendering. It's only something about exported symbols, using the
hardware randomizer if possible and some internal function and macro
name changes. For the rest, only docs have been worked on, so unless I'm
overlooking something, this is either a bug in the dejavu fonts, or
something in KDE/OpenOffice that is triggered now fontconfig exports
some more freetype API hooks.
