i am using GNOME and i have trouble playing videos. i can play them in
"xine/vlc" but when i try to play a video in full-screen:

1.) it plays SLOW
2.) playback is disturbed. i call it "layer-play" as i can see
"layers" of videos playing rather than the one video as whole. you can
say playback is choppy.

i have tried many many distros and in every distro playback was like
that (in both KDE & GNOME). right now i am using Arch Linux 0.7.2 & have
installed "Xfce" desktop on it & playback is GREAT, it is perfectly
OK, no troubles anymore. i have also installed "Windowmaker" & it play
videos fine, no troubles but when i tried to play videos in GNOME i
had the same trouble :-(

what could be the reason of trouble?

i have 1 GB of RAM installed on my AMD64 running on ASUS K8V-MX which
uses VESA driver for X.
