Yes the upgrade from 1.4.7 to 1.4.7a is forced because pacman's version 
comparison thinks 1.4.7 is newer than 1.4.7a

Add 'IgnorePkg = hplip' to /etc/pacman.conf to stop it upgrading hplip 
when you do 'pacman -Su'
