it is good for us to add .desktop files to some apps at packaging 
stage, but consider that it is always better to convince the author 
of a project to include it upstream. not only more people can profit 
from it but it will be also maintained correctly, updated and 
languages would be added because the more people use something the 
better the chance that somebody contributes to it.
