Hi Jared - I ran through the build process and got an empty database and the same error that you were getting (Django.db.utils.ProgrammingError: more than one row returned by a subquery used as an expression).
I just pushed a fix the issue, so if you follow the steps Alexei outlined, your install should be okay.
