Hi Vencislav,
Can you explain a bit more about your plans, please?

My understanding, from your message, it that you want to record Dolmens, Tombs,
Archaeological Sites and Heritage Resources. Is that correct?

If so I would suggest that you simply need a single model.

Let me explain.

The broadest grouping (ie. Heritage Resource) should have the same core
attributes as the narrowest grouping (Dolmen) that is they will both have a
name, location, date etc. associated with them.

At the narrower level it may be that you would what more detailed or
specialized information relating specifically to Dolmens but the nodes that
record the more detailed information can be included in the broader model and
simply left blank if you don’t have it.

The use of E55 Type allows you to specify the level of the model

So for instance your root node, in the single model, may be Heritage Resource
(E18 Physical Thing) to record a dolmen you would add a Record Type node (E55
Type) associated with a controlled vocabulary which could be hierarchical in
nature like a thesaurus you could then select Archaeological Site or Tomb or
Dolmen.

So you could have:

Heritage Resource Record number 36: has type Dolmen
Heritage Resource Record number 37: has type Tomb
“ “ “ “ number 38: has type Chambered Tomb
“ “ “ “ number 39: has type House

The benefit of this is that you don’t need to design a different model for
every type of thing you want to record.

Obviously if you are only ever going to record Dolmens then a specific model
would be fine.

With regards to the language aspect, as far as I’m aware there is no reason why
you shouldn’t be able to translate the interface into blugarian.

The EAMENA project provides interfaces in English and Arabic
(http://eamenadatabase.arch.ox.ac.uk/) and, I believe, uses a multi-lingual
vocabulary.

The RDM in both version 3 and 4 provides multilingual capabilities for creating
and storing SKOS-compliant controlled vocabularies and you should be able to
set the default language to Bulgarian.

I hope this helps.

Subject: [Arches] Standards in Resourse models

Hello,
My name is Ventsislav Pirinski and I am from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
We would like to integrate Arches in bulgarian museums and we are working in
close collaboration with some museums and heritage institutions. We want to
show the capabilities of Arches with a sample project. We have working
implementation of Arches 4.0.
The project is about type of tombs, dolmens. We have created Resource model
called "Dolmens" and modified it to suit our needs, but we want to relate it to
a more general model.
Something like this "Heritage resource model" -> "Archaeological site model" ->
"Tombs model" -> "Dolmens model".
We want to use a standard like CRM CIDOC for this relation.
Can this be done natively in Arches?

Also we want to have partial translation in Bulgarian for the reports. We know
that the sections can not be translated, we are concerned only about the
translation of the data. What advice would you give me for the implementation?

Best regards,
Vencislav Pirinski
