*WSO2 User Engagement Server 1.5.0 -Milestone-2 Released !* The Milestone-3 of WSO2 User Engagement Server can be downloaded at [1]<http://dist.wso2.org/milestone/ues/1.5.0-M3/wso2ues-1.5.0.zip>. Milestone-3 specifically contains following bug fixes, improvements and features done to the gadget generation tool.
*Improvement* - [UES-509 <https://wso2.org/jira/browse/UES-509>] - Preview of the gadget should be shown in the gadget-gen wizard itself *Task* - [UES-504 <https://wso2.org/jira/browse/UES-504>] - Toggling between series of a particular chart should be made possible without pausing - [UES-505 <https://wso2.org/jira/browse/UES-505>] - Preview the results of the user provided sql query in the same window and allow user to try out different queries before proceeding - [UES-506 <https://wso2.org/jira/browse/UES-506>] - At the "Data mapping" window show the selected chart type - [UES-508 <https://wso2.org/jira/browse/UES-508>] - Set the chart title in the dashboard *Bug* - [UES-501 <https://wso2.org/jira/browse/UES-501>] - Change text field for password in "create new connection" window to a password field - [UES-503 <https://wso2.org/jira/browse/UES-503>] - Need to indicate update interval in wizard is in seconds *How to test UES Gadget-gen Tool* 1. Start UES and login to the portal. 2. Click "Create" in the top left corner of the page and select "Dashboard'. 3. Enter dashboard name, choose your preferred layout and click on "Create new app". 4. You will be redirected to the designer window of the dashboard page. 5. Click on "Add Gadget" button on any of the blocks. 6. Follow the wizard. 7. Wizard will be more or less similar to the BAM gadget gen tool wizard. 8. At the data mapping window, user can can click on the + sign and add more series to a single chart. 9. Data source jag and chart options( which can be used to customize the generated chart ) file will be auto-generated. *Limitations* - Only supports connecting to RDBMS data source at the moment. - Error handling and validations are yet to be done. - Supporting text based x-axis ticks has been done and other special data types (ex : date/time) has not been done yet.
