Hi Rushmin,

Thanks again for your feedback.

The GDPR related features are very interesting.

Do you have more details in what will be included in 5.5 as well as a general
feature set of what to be expected in 5.5?

We do expect to include API manager in the solution design. I noticed below
text in the GDPR section on wso2.com:

WSO2 API Management help to address the new requirements of GDPR, such as
customer data privacy, a self care portal to enable customer rights defined in
the GDPR and full scale consent lifecycle management.

Can you share some light on details around this ?

Thanks,

Hi Rushmin,

Thanks for the swift reply.

We are in the final decision phase on deciding technology for a platform
delivering Identity management as a service targeting local municipalities as a
first step and then moving into SMB with similar services as a phase 2. It
seems improved multitenancy with improved separations/security are being built
in, but maybe that is already in 5.5 ?

There re no changes in mutitenancy architectures in 5.5 or 6. The current
architecture will remain the same.

We are close to a lock down on Identity Server combined with API manager from
WSO2, but UI´s are extremely important as well as localization (Danish language
support). Therefore, it looks like bad timing to start translating the existing
frontend to Danish if a new UI are around the corner. There will be a need for
a new end-user application based on API managers store as well as REST
communication with API manager, but the actual admin portal and super user
portal are supposed to be based on adjusted standard portals. In that light
timing / estimated release plans are extremely important.

When it comes to the Identity Server 6.0 release, the new portals *will not
replace* the existing Carbon admin console. Rather they provide a set of
functionalities to the Identity administrators and end users via an improved UX
(based on new UI technologies).

We are discussing on completely replacing the Carbon console in a future
version. But the version is not decided yet.

The bottomline is, the current investment you are doing for localizing the UI
(I believe this is Carbon admin console) is not a waste of time / money

Another requirement are to support multi affiliation, meaning one identity
/user with several employee relationships / permission / roles. IT is typically
used in government / healthcare and/or Universities where people ex can be both
student, teacher and alumni and therefore have different hats / permissions
depending on which relationship they are logged in as.

The current permission model is *not* going to change either in 5.5 or 6.0

Lastly, recertification of access rights are a hot topic related to the GDPR
requirements – are there any plans for doing something in that direction or at
least expand with minor functionality to support recertification process in
other products aka WSO2 Governance Registry ?

IS 5.5 is GDPR fully complient. However we don't have any plans on
recertification of access rights for 5.5 or 6.0

Even though roadmaps are newer committed, I would greatly appreciate more in
depth details on the mentioned upcoming releases up and including ver 6. If
everything falls out to the right side, there will be a lot more conversations
with WSO2 going forward.

IS 5.50 will be released by mid of April 2018. The timeline for 6.0 is not
decided yet.

Again, thank you very much for your swift reply.

Hi Jørgen,

Thank you for bringing this up.

As you know the latest released version of the Identity Server is 5.4.0.

And there are two releases (5.4.1 and 5.5.0) planned before 6.0.0

Most of the features planned for 6.0.0 were moved to 5.5.0.

So with the new plan...

1) The theme of 5.5.0 is about PSD2 and GDPR compliance.

2) 6.0.0 will be mainly about re-implementing UIs to be based on the ReST API
of the product.

Could you please let us know the specific features you are looking for?

Best Regards,

Rushmin
