There are four criteria that must all apply for a stay to be issued and the judge felt that we did not quite meet one of the four. That means the One Handgun a Month law will begin on July 1. However, the judge did NOT make a ruling on the actual lawsuit itself. Our lawsuit will be heard at a later date and we hope to prevail, which would strike down the law. We were just hoping to have the law stayed while our case worked through the courts over the coming weeks or months. Our request for a stay on Universal Background Checks will be heard soon, but not before July 1, so that law will also go into effect on that date. We expect the ruling on that stay to be heard in the first week of July.
