Hi Rob, We are migrating from Archon to Archives Space as I type. It has not been an easy endeavor mostly due to inconsistencies in how we entered collections. For instance, if your container lists do not have either a title or a date (they just say box 1, for instance), then they will not transfer properly and the migration will fail. We have found that with our +7000 collections, it has been best to export the Archon container lists into a spreadsheet. (we used Yale’s set up for that) and then we are all working to fix and fill in the missing metadata. This is just phase I of our migration process. Essentially, what I am saying is that we have found no easy way to move from Archon to ASpace and have discovered that if we export our metadata into EAD and spreadsheets for container lists, it makes for a much easier time of getting our metadata into ASpace. I'm leading my University's effort to bring Archon content into ArchivesSpace, and see that the migration manual is intended for moving from Archon 3.21-rev2 to ArchivesSpace 1.0.4. I'm thinking the most prudent approach will be to install ASpace 1.0.4 on our servers, do the migration, and then update to ASpace 2.0.x.
