Dear all:

A student of ours erased a record from ArchivesSpace. We were able to
recover it from a backup. I exported the record from the backup and
imported it to the current instance as EAD. However, the identifier is not
unique anymore. We temporarily rectified this by adding an asterisk after
the identifier. Of course this isn't good practice and I'd like to use the
proper number.

Has anyone encountered this? I've also experienced this with erased boxes
and associated barcodes.

Please let me know if you have suggestions.
