Hi Patrick and Blake,

If a user has the “Grant system administrator permissions” checked in their
user record, even an admin cannot edit groups for them from the Manage User
Access page. (Because they have access to everything already.) You’d need to
remove that permission from their record in Manage Users, then Edit Groups.

Hopefully that's it, but if not, are there common characteristics of these
users?

Blake,

Interesting. We’re still on 2.3.2 on production, and we were going to skip 2.4
entirely, so I haven’t done any testing on those versions.

I should have attached a screenshot, so I have now. Any insight on why this
might be happening?

I do see that same thing under 2.4.1 as well. I have the same DB running
under 2.5 and 2.41 and I can't touch the same users in both versions.

    Hi all,

I’m testing out version 2.5.0 and I’m noticing that I can’t “Edit Groups”
for some members under the “Manage User Access” page. I am logged in as an
admin user, and logging in as a different admin user doesn’t help.

I also checked on the sandbox.archivesspace.org installation and noticed
that the one user available can’t edit their own groups either.

    Anyone else seeing this?

    Thanks,
    Patrick Galligan
