To chime in on the original question, we had been running on 4 GB and found ourselves getting close to running out of RAM. Upgrading to 8 GB seems to be a good sweet spot for us. Thanks!

Older (maybe about 2 years old or so) versions benefited from nightly or weekly restarts.
