Joan, In my Ariel's log, it says the following:
11/11/08 14:54:03 Send failed for document test,999 unable to connect to receiving machine. 11/11/08 14:54:01 Send started for document test to 67.99.36.123. The Transfer Status never shows the Send(FTP and Mail) as connected.
