We've had this happen before. Click scan, but before you actually scan
the document, check your brightness/contrast properties and make sure
they're not at 0. The next thing to watch out for: every time we closed
Ariel and opened it again, they were set back to 0. No matter what we
did to change it in Ariel, they'd always be set back to 0 when we
started it again.

So, I looked at the winariel.ini file (right click, open/edit with
Notepad) and found that there are 2 brightness/contrast properties in
it. The first set (toward the top of the file) was set to 3 or 4 (though
the scan properties in Ariel) but the second (toward the bottom of the
file) was set to 0. The second set of properties overwrites the first,
so brightness/contrast were set to 0 every time Ariel opened. Change the
second set of properties to 3 or 4 (whatever you want it to be...) and
save.

Hope this helps - good luck!
Anna

Subject: [ARIE-L] Blank pages with 4.1.1

Hi

We have recently upgraded to Ariel 4.1.1 on 2 different computers at 2
different sites and both seem to have the same problem. We get blank
pages when we scan. We are using Ricoh Aficio scanners at both sites.
Has anyone come across this or know of a fix? Everything was working
fine before upgrading.

Thanks,
Kirrarne
