We use a Fujitsu 6230 and have the same popup issues, but no problem with the feed. The 6230 works great, is pretty fast, and will handle more pages through the document feed at one time than the nominal top limit.

Ariel wants an older version of TWAIN (version 6-8) than the scanner uses (version 9). There is an annoying popup which announces this when Ariel first touches the scanner. The sheet feeder setting in the scanner driver will not stick, and pages have to be scanned singly.
