I’m not saying anyone is using anything other than ethernet now. I am saying that (in case you haven’t noticed) network technologies change over time and I don’t think an IX that wants to use a new technology should have to wait for ARIN policy to catch up in order to do so. > So why don't we, if we really need to, remove the word ethernet and be done > with it? If you want to go that way, I’d propose “…connected to a physical fabric infrastructure to be used for the purpose of…”. That would still eliminate your VirtualIX’s, and yet be technology agnostic.
