I've only had mine a week.  But I've not seen the first feature.. No defining
words.  The second question is a yes.  All I do is hook it up with the provided
USB cord and they give you a cd to install so you can buy ebooks or transfer
ebooks from your computer.  So far I have only transfered pdfs.  You can also
buy a AC adapter if you don't use or are away from your computer to charge.  It
also has two SD card slots on the top.  You can load books on it and do it that
way.  They are two different sizes so you can use any kind of SD card.  I think
with all of these readers, they are VERY delicate.  Mine is going in for
repairs soon. My daughter pulled something off a shelf and the ebook reader
went with it.  So its frozen right now.  The service center is closed today so
can't do anything until monday.  If you are curious about their service
policies, give me a day or two and I'll give you a review.  So far I wanna
smack them.  But I think
 that is everywhere.
If you are looking into the Kindle, ask amazon if they have a restocking fee if
you don't like it and want to return it.  Because Sony has one and it can be
expensive to return one.  Best Buy and Circuit city are known for this too.

Hope that helps.

I am not familiar with this.  Does it also define unknown word upon request?
Does it function independently of a computer?  If this is comparable I may go
this route as well.  Thanks in advance.

You know I actually saw that and really thought about getting it.  But after
alot of research I finally settled on a sony ebook reader 505 because I can
upload my own ebooks to it instead of buying them online.  Plus the reviews
were so much better.
I asked for it for my birthday (the 31st) and my dad bought it for me.  It was
cheaper than the kindle and the sonystyle website offers free shipping.  I love
this thing plus I have the best dad.  Who else would buy me a 300 gift at the
age of 27?  lol

I've been reading the Sisters of the Moon Series by Yasmine Galenorn.  I
finished book 1 The Witchling and am now half way through the send book, The
Changeling.
I'll have to find the third book after that.  Very good books by the way if you
like paranormal fantasy books. :)

That's the one they are talking about.
