Mangal Pandey seems like yet another classy album.
All songs sound good, and the main thing that strikes is, ARR has been able to come up with some scintillating melodies, same time doing just to the period that the movie is set in.
Kailash Kher rocks. Sureshot candidate for next year's awards. :-)
One thing that I noticed was the using of a lot of previously used loops.
Main Vari Vari had "Daud beats" and "Dandiya beats"
Takey Takey has a bit of "Saiyyaan loop".
Otherwise its a terrific work by Rahman.
