wonderful song.
 
One 
should listen to the mridhangam beat thru out the song in the form of a 
loop...
 
It was 
quite new at that time and probably a pioneering effort...
 
I 
would like to draw a parallet of this song with one song from the film "Vikram" 
by IR....No copy or inspiration what so ever...so don't get confused...I just 
read it some where...so would like to share this bit of 
info...
 
Basically the song "Meendum meendum va" and "edhu sugam 
sugam" follow similar meter and almost same swaras...and both the songs are for 
a somantic night- bed situation where hero and heroine 
romances...
 
see 
how both IR and ARR have handled this situation...There is not part in the ARR's 
song to say that its been even remotely inspired by that Vikram's song...but the 
way the two genius have envisioned the situation and generated tune and song 
structures speaks volumes about their capabilities...
 
Though...the song from Vikram by IR is popular to an 
extend..same cannot be said about this melodiaic beauty by ARR....many of his 
fans who joined ARR band wagon have not relished this great song..I guess...God 
I am lucky though...

the male singer is at his teasing best in that song....the way he sings 
"...koodum neram..pala ugangal ganangal aagum.."..and there on to sing..."va 
va...un marbil thaalatta"...great singing..the mridhangam sets to high tone..and 
immediately nose dives to lover sound....

musically illiterate fan...If I had used any musical term wrongly , then accept
