Annu Malik and a host of Bollywood singers
will enthral the audience in Dubai.
Love him, loathe him or call him Copycat Malik but you can't deny the
fact that Annu Malik copies good. He will be the main feature in a grand
concert, Annu Malik Live at the Country Club, Dubai, on December 12.
Malik is coming to Dubai after a long hiatus - 12 years. Over this
period, he has evolved into one of the most adaptable composers in the
Hindi film music scene, producing catchy, uptempo and trendy tunes. He
also caught the eye of TV viewers's as a judge on the immensely popular TV
show, Indian Idol.
Sonu Nigam, too, agrees that his favourite composer is Malik, "He has
this tremendous ability to adapt himself. AR Rahman will always sounds
like Rahman, but depending on the situation, Malik has the ability to
compose a score like Rahman, Jatin-Lalit or anyone else," says Nigam.
This very chameleon-like quality of changing with the situation has
kept Malik's music from being outdated or predictable and it has also
helped him thrive in this fickle industry for more than 25 years.
Besides Malik, a host of leading Bollywood singers such as Abhijeet,
Kunal Ganjawalla, Alisha Chinoy and Sunidhi Chauhan will be on stage.
Malik's orchestra features a 10-member troupe, plus there's a 12-member
dance troupe, choreographed by Lollypop who set the dance routine for the
song Chamma Chamma from the film India
Gate. |
