If you see the picturization of the song, the protagonists have forgotten everything and are dancing in gay abandon. (though I'm sure they're not thinking of God !!!)
Really deep meaning to the lyrics... only Rahman couldve given disco-rock beats to such a spiritual song and yet carry it off with aplomb !!!
Once you actually
understand the lyrics of this song, the true meaning seeps in and you start loving the song much much more than before.
The earliest use of this word in Hindi songs that I can recall is in the Mohd.Rafi classic from Ustadon ke Ustad - Sau baar janam lenge, Sau baar fanaah honge, Ae jaan-e-wafaa phir bhi, hum tum na juda honge
Means, Will be born a hundred times, will get destroyed a hundred times, But still, my loyal love, we wont separate.
